John Workman, 79, passed away Easter Sunday peacefully at his home in Mossyrock, Washington, surrounded by his wife Penny; daughter, Cassie; and grandson Colby Johnson.
John was born in Morton, Washington on October 8, 1944. John was the son of Hiram and Violet (Musie) Workman.
John graduated from Mossyrock High School. John joined the Navy after graduation. He served on the USS Oriskany.
John always worked in the timber business, most of his time spent driving logging trucks. He retired from North Fork Timber a few years back.
He loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He also enjoyed going to the Packwood Flea Market every year.
John is survived by his wife Penny; sister Joanne Tuttle; daughters Cassie Anderson, Vickie (Glenn) Stromberg, Mary (Brian) West; Brenda (Randy) Lincecam, Richard (Lora) Verd; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were all blessed by a loving Papa John.
John was preceded in death by his sister Bonnie (George) Cain; stepson Daniel Verd; grandson Danny Verd; his special in-laws, Ken and Ruth Payne; Sisters in-law Darla Lewis and Kathryn Willis.
John will be greatly missed by his family and his truck driving brothers.
A celebration of life will be held at the New Mossyrock Fire Station on May 4, 2024, at 1pm.
